Phew!

OMG friends, we made it.  We traveled from Brooklyn, NY to Oklahoma City, OK in 2 days time.  It was a great success.  We left Brooklyn at 6:00am on Saturday.  A swift ride on Amtrak got us to Baltimore, MD and we arrived there at 9:45am.  Pineapple Chuck picked us up at the train station and ferried us to Frederick, MD where we dropped him off at home, picked up some awesome snacks courtesy of Mama Knapp and were on our way.

Driving; it is something your muscles never forget yet makes me super nervous each time I get behind the wheel now.  I drive maybe twice a year.

My re-introductory driving weather.  Rain in Maryland.
Snow in W. Virginia.  Look out!  Icy rocks!
We had rain in Kentucky also, but only a little.  Once the sun came out, we got to see the beautiful Kentucky Bluegrass.  So green!
Indiana (no offense Indiana) is nothing to write home about. Therefore I will not write anymore.
Disclaimer: It was nighttime when we hit Indiana, Indiana may appear cooler during the daytime.

Illinois was dark and windy.

We spent Sat night just outside of St. Louis on the Illinois side.

Sunday, we slept in.  Our hotel was awesome and comfy.

Missouri is awesome.  Best scenic drive ever.  They have awesome McDonalds billboards.  And Jellystone.  And a six flags.  Pack up your kids right now and take them to Missouri.  It is also the start of the Oregon trail and Joseph Smith was killed there in 1838 in the Missouri Mormon war.  He said that Jackson County was the actual site of the Garden of Eden, take that Iraq.  Learn some history in Missouri, you will not regret it.

Also, Missouri has the Meremac Caverns.  The caverns have obviously spent a lot on advertising as they had no less than 30 signs telling us of their wares.  Most notably, Jesse James used the caverns as a hideout.  Cool.
Advertising works, fret not ad execs, we will be touring the caverns on our way back to NY.

Oklahoma is a lot prettier than I thought it would be.

I know, that travel talk is boring.  But think about how much you just learned.  We were in 8 states on Saturday and then 2 more on Sunday.  That is a whirlwind tour of the United States.  And we risked life and limb to bring it to you.

It felt very good to finally get here.  We traveled 13 hours on Sat (16 if you count the train) and 8 on Sun.
