You just learned another little historical tidbit from me. When the Spaniards arrived in South America, they noticed that Aztec warriors would take Maca(a root from Peru) before battle. Lots of it. When they arrived back at thier villages, they had to be kept from the women(they were a wee bit roided out and randy). Maca is energizing and an aphrodesiac in men. It increases the volume, potency and mobility of their swimmers and makes them what the Greeks call Kavla(sp?). It is also hormone balancing in women. The Spanish overlords demanded that taxes be payed in Maca. Crazy right?
Who knew raw food could be so fun...
